The finals days of Sears are ticking down after the once mainstay of American retail officially closed the doors on it’s last remaining store in Washington, which had been an anchor store at Southcenter Mall in Tukwila for 30 years.
There are now 8 Sears stores remaining across the nation.
In the early 2000s, Sears merged with Kmart in a bid to stabilize the once iconic brand, but the efforts failed to rejuvenate either brand and in 2018 the company was forced to file for bankruptcy which led to shuttering of stores across the United States.
At its peak, Sears boasted more than 3,000 stores across the country, and now only 8 remain.
