Third Annual CimaFest NOLA Arrives May 2025

The third annual CimaFest NOLA is scheduled to take place at the Civic Theater on May 2nd, 2025, the second weekend of Jazz Fest, and will feature Grammy-nominated Afro-Cuban funk artist Cimafunk and his band, La Tribu.

“CimaFest is about more than music; it’s a celebration of heritage, groove, and the global funk movement,” Cimafunk said as part of an official announcement (h/t Offbeat). “This year, we’re bringing even more energy and surprises. It’s going to be a night to remember.”

CimaFest highlights the cultural connections between Cuba and the city of  New Orleans by blending Afro-Cuban rhythms with New Orleans funk and has seen the likes of  Chucho ValdésLa Dame Blanche, and Big Freedia perform in the past.
